Accessibility
We want every patient to feel welcome and well cared for in our practice — regardless of physical, sensory, or cognitive needs.
Our Approach
Accessibility is not just a technical requirement for us — it reflects a core part of our values: taking women seriously, offering respectful support, and creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere. This includes making our website and our practice as accessible as we can.
We know we have not reached perfection. That is exactly why we find it important to be transparent about what already works well — and where we still need to find better solutions.
Accessibility of This Website
When building this website, we considered the principles of digital accessibility from the very beginning. We follow the internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at conformance level AA.
In concrete terms, this means:
- We use strong colour contrasts so that texts remain readable even with limited vision.
- All informative images include descriptive alternative text that can be read aloud by screen readers.
- The structure of the site is built on clean semantic HTML, which supports navigation with assistive technologies.
- The entire website can be operated using only a keyboard. Focus indicators clearly show your current position.
- Font sizes can be enlarged without loss of functionality.
- The layout adapts flexibly to different screen sizes and devices.
- We avoid auto-playing videos, flashing content, and other elements that can make reading difficult.
Accessibility of Our Practice
Our practice at Florastraße 8 in Dormagen is designed to be reachable and usable for as many patients as possible. We want to be honest about what works — and where we reach limits.
- Access: The practice is located on the first floor and is reachable by lift.
- Treatment rooms: All treatment rooms are reachable by lift.
- Doors: The doors are not wide. If you use a wheelchair or larger mobility aid, please get in touch beforehand so we can check together whether the access works for you.
- Restroom: Our toilet is small and currently does not offer enough space for an accessible WC. An accessible restroom is not available.
- Parking: Large free public car park at Schützenplatz, a few minutes on foot. We do not have a dedicated accessible parking bay at the building itself — please use the general accessible parking bays in the surrounding area.
- Public transport: The “Marktplatz” bus stop is a 2-minute walk away, Dormagen train station about 8 minutes on foot.
- Examination chair: Height-adjustable examination chair that makes transferring from a wheelchair easier.
- Companions: You are always welcome to bring a trusted companion — into the practice and, if you wish, into the treatment room.
Video Consultation as an Alternative
For patients who find it difficult to travel to the practice, we offer video consultations via Doctolib on Mondays from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Many topics — such as hormonal questions, fertility, or menopause — can be discussed confidentially and calmly this way, with no travel and no waiting room.
Support During Your Visit
If you need specific support — for example a quieter appointment with fewer other patients in the waiting area, help with changing, extra time during the consultation, or accompaniment by a relative — please let us know in advance. We will plan your appointment in a way that works well for you.
You are also welcome to let us know if you have specific needs related to anxiety, a history of trauma, or sensory sensitivity. Anything you share with us is treated confidentially and will be taken into account when we prepare your appointment.
What We Still Want to Improve
We continuously work on making our website and our practice more accessible. At the current state, we are not aware of significant limitations beyond the structural limits we named honestly above (door width, accessible WC). If you do encounter a barrier, please let us know — every message helps us move forward.
Feedback and Contact
If you encounter a barrier on our website or in our practice that makes things difficult for you, we would genuinely like to hear about it. Every message helps us improve.
