Online gynecology consultation in Dormagen

When the way to the practice is difficult, your day is full, or you want to clarify a follow-up question between in-person appointments: we offer our video consultation on Mondays from 8 to 10 pm — via Doctolib, complementary to our in-person appointments.

Elisa Mahlberg, gynecologist in Dormagen – video consultation

Our video consultation complements in-person appointments; it does not replace them. For discussion of results, cycle questions, hormone counsel or menopause care the format is well suited. For anything that needs a physical examination, we see you in person at the practice.

Evening video consultation — when getting to the practice does not fit

Your lab result is in, but there is no way to fit a practice visit into your week? The menopause topic you have wanted to talk about for a long time never seems to fit anywhere in the week? That is exactly why we set up the video consultation — deliberately on Monday evenings from 8 to 10 pm.

You take the appointment from home and have your records to hand.

How a video consultation with Elisa Mahlberg works

The flow is straightforward:

  • Book online. You book your video appointment via Doctolib, from the Monday evening slot (8–10 pm).
  • Joining via Doctolib. The video consultation runs through Doctolib. Once you have booked a video appointment, you can join via the Doctolib app or the Doctolib website. The technical instructions come directly from Doctolib.
  • The conversation. We work through your topic the way we would in an in-person appointment.
  • Documentation. The appointment is recorded in your digital chart exactly like a practice visit.

Important: A video consultation in our practice is only possible if you have already been in person within the current quarter. This requirement is there so that we can place your situation in proper medical context.

Telemedicine gynecology – when video works well and when it does not

The video consultation is suited to a range of topics that do not require a physical examination:

  • Discussion of lab results.
  • Cycle and hormone counsel where no new examination is required.
  • Menopause care between in-person appointments.
  • Contraception counsel ahead of a decision.
  • General follow-up questions between in-person appointments.

Not suited to video:

  • first consultations that require a gynecological exam,
  • acute symptoms with suspected infection, tumor or pregnancy complication,
  • IUD fitting, cancer screening, HPV vaccination (obviously),
  • situations where ultrasound is clearly needed.

If in doubt, we discuss whether your topic is video-suitable — otherwise we offer an in-person appointment.

A good video consultation is not a replacement but an addition. For everything that is truly allowed to happen on a screen.

When does a video consultation fit you?

An evening video consultation is especially helpful if:

  • you have already been seen in person this quarter and need a pure follow-up talk,
  • you work full-time and it is hard to come in during the day,
  • you have limited mobility or cannot currently travel to Dormagen,
  • you need a calm review between two in-person appointments,
  • you are an expat from Düsseldorf, Neuss or Cologne and would like an English-language appointment — English-language video consultations are possible with us.

Yes, if a medical indication exists and KBV requirements are met (especially the quarterly in-person visit), the video consultation is billed like an in-person visit for statutorily insured patients. Prescription requests we take by phone or email, not via the video consultation. The video consultation is used for counsel and discussion formats.
